Who is TeamEV

TeamEV is a group of alternate fuel enthusiasts who enjoy working on adapting vehicles to run on new power sources. Created in 2000, TeamEV converted and raced an electric vehicle in the 2001 NESEA Tour De Sol. Aside from this conversion the members of TeamEV enjoy working on new and interesting project dealing with unique drive systems. Members of TeamEV have worked on numerous electric vehicles, ethanol powered vehicles and dabbled in research for SVO/WVO vehicles

About e-Stream

e-Stream is the name of a 1991 Volkswagen Cabriolet converted by TeamEV to a fully battery electric vehicle. The base of the conversion of this vehicle is the Volkswagen rabbit parts designed by Electro-Automotive in Felton, California. e-Stream.s drive system is powered by sixteen (16) 6V, 215 amp-hour flooded lead-acid batteries wired in series for an optimal voltage of 96V DC. A 400 amp model 1221C-7401 Curtis controller, and 15 elec. Hp series wound brushless motor from Advanced DC Motors Inc. provide the control and effort to move the vehicle. TeamEV entered e-Stream in both the 2001 and 2002 NESEA Tour De Sol road rallies and placed third for Most Efficient Light Duty Vehicle in the 2002 race.

As of August 2008, over 15,000 electric miles have been driven by the car on two sets of traction batteries. e-Stream has been driven up to ~70 MPH on the highway and averages around 45-50 miles under normal suburban road commutes. The longest distance driven on a single charge was on the 2002 Tour De Sol when TeamEV drove 68 miles in Maryland. e-Stream is still functional over 7 years after conversion and driven regularly.
